A Dorchester School District Two Elementary School teacher has won a four-day, five-night Caribbean cruise from Bojangles’ as part of its May Teacher Appreciation Month promotion.
Maree Carway, a 5K teacher at Windsor Hill Arts Infused Elementary School, was awarded the cruise today during a surprise ceremony at the school. Awarding her the cruise was Ken Reynolds, Director of Field Marketing for Bojangles.
Ms. Carway was nominated by a fellow teacher at Windsor Hill who said in her nomination: “THANK YOU for giving my daughter the BEST start to school ever!! She loves school and it is because of you and Camille’s love and enthusiasm!!”.
As part of the announcement and celebration, Windsor Hill’s teachers were treated to a catered Bojangles’ lunch.
During the month of May, Bojangles allowed students, parents or past students to honor teachers with online tributes at the website of SC Future Minds, the non-profit that connects private support to public schools in South Carolina. At month end, Ms. Carway was selected at random to win the cruise. Past winners from across the state have included teachers from Chesterfield, Johnsonville and Lexington.
Also, during Teacher Appreciation Month in May, participating Bojangles’ stores throughout the state gave teachers a free Legendary Iced Tea or other beverage with any purchase. They also gave each public school employee a card giving them free Legendary Iced Tea all year long. “At Bojangles’, we believe in giving back to the communities we serve, and we’re proud to partner with South Carolina Future Minds to continue honoring hard-working educators during South Carolina Teacher Appreciation Month,” said Bojangles’ President and CEO Clifton Rutledge. “We have all experienced the positive impact of a caring and committed teacher, so we’re honored to play even a small part in supporting their efforts.”
