Suzanne Rogers, School District of Oconee County’s Teacher of the Year
Suzanne teaches ELA at Oconee Academy. Here is a bit of her story:
“I realized I wanted to teach in middle school. The best part of my job is spending quality time with my students. I spend all day with the same group, and I have gotten to see them grow in amazing ways. We have a wonderful dynamic. I call my students ‘my wolf pups.’ One minute they can be snarling and snapping at each other, and the next minute they are cuddled up together working on a project. Each day is a new opportunity for them to be the best students they can be, and for me to be the best teacher I can be. My advice for any prospective educator— you better love kids with all your heart.”
