Mrs. Kinard is absolutely and amazing teacher she’s funny, smart, and knows how to control her class but we have great moments with her. We can tell she loves what she does and cares about us even though some students may get on her nerves. Overall not only her student but her co-workers absolutely love her and her presence. Sally Jenkins

LBC Middle School

My teacher, Mrs. Jenkins, is probably the most intelligent woman I know. She is my teacher hero because she really helped me open my eyes to view the world in a new way. She taught all of her classes that we read literature to learn about life! Over the summer time, we had to read The Hobbit and do worksheets on it. At first, I thought that it was a stupid idea for the students to have to read over the summer, little did I know that it would be for a REALLY good cost. After reading The Hobbit and Mrs. Jenkins explaining it, it made me see the world in a different way. Also when we learned more about MLK, it made the little details that I didn’t know come out. Such as the importance of equality and justice. My English 1 teacher, Mrs. Jenkins, is my teacher hero!

Mrs. Jefson

Petersburg primary

Mrs. Jefson took my shy, kind hearted, dyslexic child who struggled with being excepted and struggled leaving home everyday, under her wing and brought out the little girl we all knew was inside her! She’s such a kind patient teacher who loves all her children and it shows everytime I walk into that school. Shes always at the school late working and spends her own money sometimes to make sure each child has a snack everyday and never treats one child different no matter what. Even if she doesn’t win this trip she deserves a medal!
